Temple of Juno
Other
24" x 18'
This beautiful Batik on handmade Japanese paper I completed after spending a summer in Sicily in 1995. I traveled all over the island visiting the ruins in each village.
Batik is an ancient Indonesian technique of applying wax and dye to fabric. In the 1970's I began using the same technique but using handmade paper instead of fabric. I apply melted wax, using inks and watercolors instead of dye.
It is titled: The Temple of Juno. I saw this ruin in Agrigento, Sicily.
It is unframed and the price is $1,000.00. Please contact me if you are interested in seeing more batiks on handmade paper.
