Little did I know that when we moved back to Ojai in the spring of 2024 after volunteering for the One Humanity Institute in Poland for 1.5 years, I would be volunteering for OSA as the 2025 president. With my deep passion for art and community engagement, I bring experience and fresh perspectives to share with the OSA board, all artist members, and art lovers and collectors. This year promises to be transformative.
Our work mostly took place in Auschwitz, though we lived in Krakow. The exposure to the camps and the beauty of Krakow, gave me deep experiences which I hope I’ll create new artworks based on my experiences there. I did a series of digital prints expanding my artwork which has been sculpture for over 30 years, to wall hanging art. Here’s one of a series, and I will need to create a website to show the new work more fully than BermanSculpture.com
These new works are mostly metal prints on aluminum.
Lisa and I traveled in September to Japan for what we titled “From Auschwitz to Hiroshima” with a Peace Delegation of 50 International Peace Leaders. Since back for the Beatrice Woods Exhibition opening January 11th, I created a collaborative sculpture with Douglas Lochner who did the frame for my kiln cast glass sculpture titled: “Enlightened Portal Gateway” 18”x17”x8”. I hope you can see this beauty and the many other artworks of OSA artist’s first showing of 2025.
You are also welcome to contact me about private showing in my home gallery. Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year.
