Marie McKenzie

Marie McKenzie creates ecological art with an optimistic outlook. McKenzie’s oil paintings begin with highlights from her travels, intuitively softening into abstraction as she welcomes the intuitive visions of an underwater world. Her sculptures reflect the gentle sway of the kelp forest, through steam bending, minimal layering and repetition. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Marie McKenzie received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Kansas in 2009, and is now based in Ojai, California.
