James Menzel-Joseph's family background includes both Adolph Menzel, Germany's most prolific artist of the nineteenth century and Henri Fantin-Latour, the French Symbolist painter. While on the faculty of The American Academy of Art, he was commissioned to do 30 paintings of Black History in America. These paintings were exhibited in many cities throughout the US. Represented in group and one-man shows he has won numerous honors and awards. Menzel-Joseph is the author of "Art and Survival in theTwenty-first Century."
